These screenprinted lovelies are made by Andrea Winkler of Toronto. I love her designs, partially because I am lately enamoured with odd nature prints (deer heads and birds. Why? Why not!) and anchors. She does print onto some American Apparel tops and dresses, but she also does one-of-a-kind tops that are super pretty. Such as the following cowl neck:
I’m a bit biased because I am in love with Love, Me Boutique and just about everything that is sold there, but Pretty Raccoon customers are often repeat customers – and that’s always a good sign. I saw someone come in the store recently wearing a Pretty Raccoon top as she shopped for another one. And they seem to sell out everytime the shop brings them in. If you’re not in Halifax, you can shop online. But if you’re in the city, I’d recommend heading over to Birmingham Street and checking out the goods in person. It’s always better when you can try it on first – that way you know the fit and colour are right for you. There’s a good reason Stacey & Clinton push people to try clothes on before buying. Unless you are actually a hanger, you have no idea how it will look on you until you put it on.
AllyG: I love these. I had actually never heard of this designer before. I adore the shirt on the top (baby blue and brown). Just another reason to hit up Love Me Boutique this week!
