Fashionable People, Questionable Things. | Monday Shoe Porn: L-A’s collection of 41 | Fashionable People, Questionable Things.

L-A: We kicked off last week with some shoe porn by taking a look at the 46 pairs that Eden owns (and yes, the kicking pun was totally intended; the shoe porn I should probably lay off of as it may get us some unwanted traffic). We thought we’d make it a semi-regular feature where we take pics of our shoes and share them with you (this might also be useful for insurance purposes in the future). So you can judge us and our taste in shoes.

Here’s my collection. There might be one or two pairs MIA (like my red converse all stars from grade nine – they are held together with duct tape and have writing all over them from high school friends. I never wear them, but cannot part with them. I’m going to have them bronzed or something). I have tried to arrange them in a semi-logical order, but word press is trying hard to ignore this order. I’ve also tried to tell you wear I purchased them – for the hell of it.

Shoes! Love them? Hate them? I know that some of my shoes are looking threadbare and some are just horribly out of date/out of sync with my current style. Whatevs. I’ve got some pack rat tendencies. I definitely need more boots. And both pairs of rainboots have to go (one pair I’m over and the other got a crack in the foot rendering them kind of useless as rainboots). I’ve counted my flip flops as one pair because they’re, well, flip flops. They’re like slippers or something. I have them, I wear them, but I don’t count them as individual shoes the way I do all my others.

With my collection being at 41 pairs, I think that if I get one more pair, I might find the answer to life, the universe and everything. Then again…perhaps my Chuck Taylor’s are the 42nd pair and are the answer. I should find those so I can work on the question (/complete and utter geekery).

AllyG: Dude. You have a serious shoe collection. I have always adored your taste in flats. You were wearing flats way before Anna Wintour. Can I ask why you do not own a pair of Tory Burch shoes? I feel you should, as a flat shoe afficiado. I also agree that you should not toss the pink Doc Marten Mary Janes. I love them. They are a tad, how do you say…”Cruncy Granola”? But I love them nevertheless.

Knowing you love “weather boots” (we’ve already confirmed that I do not wear rain boots as I do not wish to encourage its behaviour). I thought I’d chuck you the Weather Boot Guide from one of my fave e-newsletters at Fantastic Toe Dot Com

Stylish Weather Boots

Fantastic Toe tells us that, “Yes, you can slosh through the muck in these boots, and your feet will stay dry and warm. But you can also wear them to work, and during the weekend, and out at night to all but the most formal occasions.” I disagree, but whatevs. We can argue about that another time FT.

In other news, I am sort of excited that you and Eden are killing my shoe collection. I can’t wait to send this link to El Jeffe to prove my need for MORE SHOES.

L-A: You’re right. I do need a pair of Tory Burch flats. They might be getting a wee bit passé, but they’d complement the collection nicely.

    OOOH! Another big foot girl!

Can I volunteer or something, to post my pics? (after I take them? lol)I so love this idea.

    • L-A says:

Big feet and all my friends have wee feet – meaning I can never borrow their cute shoes. Sadness.

We’ll totally take volunteers to show off their shoe collections! Maybe I’ll start a flickr group or something to make it easier to share/post them.

You have some cute shoes! My favourites are the Steve Maddens from Biscuit. I will be checking out their Boxing Day sale this year for sure!

    • L-A says:

The Steve Maddens are probably my favourite too – although I don’t wear them enough. I went into that Biscuit sale on a mission to get those shoes. They were in my hands and paid for before anyone had a chance to take a second look at them.

The Maddens are adorable, and I love all your ballet flats. I think I was with you when you got the Rockports! And I am jealous of the Indigo boots.

Not a fan of either of the pointy slingbacks. A cute round-toed pump would look better, always.
