AllyG: Not the best start, but give me time to warm up. Today my inspiration was as follows:

Pink sweater, tunic, jeans. I had a little do-rag in my hair a la this photo:

but the fact that I was taking my son for his six month shots and my husband refusing to leave the house with a “fortune teller” made me rethink the headgear. I went instead with a fedora, a Carrie staple.  I knew L-A would call this a weak move, so I threw on pearls. Lots of pearls. A pearl chocker and a pearl chain. I was going to do heels, but as I was trotting along with a stroller, I felt this to be too much.

I promise to do better tomorrow. I am going over to my girlfriend’s house to hang with the ladies. They have promised to help me recreate this number:

Wish me luck.

L-A: I’m maybe a little bit scared of what Day 2 is going to look like. Only because I still have bad dreams of that outfit. El Jeffe is never going to speak to me again. But this is what you get for deleting your twitter account before I even get to see it. Do not mess with me, El Jeffe.

Anyway, let’s score Ally’s outfit:

Plaid Fedora: +2

Pearls: +1 (but I think there should have been even more)

Cardigan over sloppy looking shirt: +1

Flats: -2

Jeans: -1 (because they are not ill-fitting or an odd colour)

Total score: +1

A good start, but you were not nearly crazy looking enough. Remember: more is better. (scoring system is completely arbitrary…I am making it up as I go along).

I’m hoping the week ends in a tutu.

I agree with your scoring. Can. Not. Wait. Until. Tomorrow.

Man, Carrie so crazy. I’m one of the few and proud Carrie-haters in the world (don’t get me wrong, I’ve somehow still watched- and enjoyed, mostly- every offering from the SATC franchise) so this challenge is particularly hilarious to me! What I think needs to be done to achieve the ridiculousness of the 2nd & 3rd photo is go to Wal-Mart and buy pieces from the plus-size lingerie section and the children’s section, then combine. Voila! Oh and I think in the pink sweater episode she had about 3000 bobby pins in her hair (see, I unfortunately know these things)..

    Keep ‘em coming! :)

I’m right there with you on the Carrie hating. I’m as guilty as the next person for enjoying the show, but I do not get the cult of Carrie.
